Residentials at St Matthew’s Catholic Primary School
At St. Matthew’s, we run multiple residential’s each year for each of our upper key stage 2 year groups (Years 4, 5 and 6). The staff and children have a fantastic time throughout their stay on the residential and so a lot of our year groups attend the same places year on year, as they have proven to be excellent in repeated visits.
The children and staff make memories they will cherish for years to come, with fond memories of their accomplishments and overcoming their fears alongside their peers.
Information for upcoming residentials is usually given out to parents close to November/December alongside informational meetings for parents to ask any concerns or questions they may have.
Year 6: Galloway
Our Year 6s have returned to Galloway for 5 years in a row! The children and staff couldn’t fault the fantastic location of Loch Ken alongside the warm weather. The activities, accommodation and coordinators from Galloway have been fantastic each time the school has made the 214 mile round-trip journey! To make up for the long journey, the children stay for 4 nights at Galloway and so have a fun filled week of activities, exploration and fun.
Year 5: Weardale
Our Year 5s have venture to Weardale, County Durham and for the last few years they have had a fantastic time. The children experience a multitude of activities, from kayaking to river-walking. With it being right alongside the River Wear, you’re always sure to have a fantastic assortment of water activities on offer. The children have had lovely visits on the previous few years and we are booked up to return in 2020!
Year 4: TBC
Our Year 4 residential visit is still to be arranged this year. Watch this space…
